Dushyant Pathak has over 15 years of senior management experience with Fortune-500, publicly traded, early-stage and start-up companies. He served as Senior Vice President of Business Development at Zosano Pharma and prior to this, was at UC Davis as its associate vice chancellor of research, innovation and technology commercialization, and the executive director of Venture Catalyst. He led technology commercialization, corporate engagement, and startup formation, capital raising and the launch of a network of local and regional incubators at the university. Dushyant was the first entrepreneur-in-residence at Mission Bay Capital, and additionally worked in venture capital previously at Connecticut Innovations. In addition to his current position, his executive leadership roles in biotechnology companies have included vice president of business development at iPierian, vice president of program management and corporate development at Renovis, where he led business development, clinically-directed program management and commercial planning, and senior vice president of business development & strategic planning at Centaur Pharmaceuticals. Dushyant was president and chief executive officer of Cellexicon, and chief executive officer and board director of BioProtocol, cancer molecular-diagnostics and life science information services startups, respectively. His business development experience has included positions at Chiron Corporation, Arris Pharmaceutical Co., Axys Pharmaceuticals, Renovis, Centaur Pharmaceuticals, iPierian and engagements through VentureEdge LLC, which he founded in 2007. Dushyant received a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology from Northwestern University, an M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, and a B.A. in natural science and mathematics from Bennington College. He was a Damon Runyon-Walter Winchell Cancer Fund postdoctoral fellow and subsequently, a member of the research faculty at Yale University.
